The Surrogate Cape Cod

Let's face it: sometimes Bostonians just don't want to go to the Cape for whimsical little shops and ice cream. Everybody goes to the Cape around this time of year until late September. Many trips there have proved, for me at least, that Cape Cod is getting boring - devoid of night life and good restaurants. So do what you can and hurry down to Newburyport because it's slowly becoming the new "quaint New England town". Think Nantucket mixed with Newton and the Cape, plus a bit of the NY Hamptons thrown in.
