J: "Today's fashion is so NOT fashion. It's like those exhibits where you see a big white paper with three red lines and some lady in the corner is saying, 'MARVELOUS! Oh the depth!' And really, it's just so exaggerated that it's embarrassing to call it style."

Thursday Night I'm In Love

With Sophia Kokosalaki. Love the construction, love the versatility, love the glamour. Not to mention, she does gold the right way - opulent, charming... without being overzealous. As La Torine pointed out, there's something very regal about Kokosalaki's fall collection and also something really new and innovative. We can't put our finger on it, but it's giving us the butterflies.

The Surrogate Cape Cod

Let's face it: sometimes Bostonians just don't want to go to the Cape for whimsical little shops and ice cream. Everybody goes to the Cape around this time of year until late September. Many trips there have proved, for me at least, that Cape Cod is getting boring - devoid of night life and good restaurants. So do what you can and hurry down to Newburyport because it's slowly becoming the new "quaint New England town". Think Nantucket mixed with Newton and the Cape, plus a bit of the NY Hamptons thrown in.

She Didn't Mean Those Fashionable Costume Parties

K: "I'm returning a lot of H&M stuff. After looking at it, I realized that it looks really tacky."
M: "I think it's over rated sometimes. It's good for a shirt or two or perhaps a quick trend fix. That's about it."
K: "No. Really tacky. Like... Costumes and iparty tacky."

K made my day. I am so happy that someone finally pointed out that H&M isn't so grand after all.
